About Haqiqah Tree
.....
Haqiqah Tree aims to empower Muslim parents & educators with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to thoughtfully approach Islamic sexual tarbiyyah, identify and resist secular ideological manipulation & cultivate strong Islamic identity & character rooted in discernment and moral courage, InShaAllah.
The Why ...
As Muslim parents we are raising our children in genuinely difficult and unprecedented times. As the below saying attributed to Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib (as) warns::
"Do not raise your children the same way your parents raised you, as they were born for a time different from yours"
The challenges our children face are not the challenges we faced, and in many cases, the forces shaping them are ones we cannot easily see.
Schools, media, peers, and the online world are forming our children's understanding of themselves, their bodies, their identity, and their place in the world, often before we have had the chance, or awareness of the need, to speak to them first.
This leaves many Muslim parents feeling overwhelmed, underprepared, and unsure where to begin. This is not because they do not care but because the practical guidance and resources they urgently need, rooted in Islamic faith and psychologically informed are severely lacking.

The Who ...
I am a UK-based Muslim psychologist with a doctorate in Counselling Psychology and over two decades of clinical experience working with mental health, childhood trauma and families and children.
Since 2018 my work has focused specifically on the Muslim community, supporting parents navigating RSE in schools, helping families stand up for their rights, and working clinically with young people facing identity crises, the influence of LGBTQ+ ideologies, and challenges such as pornography addiction.
That clinical experience sits alongside something harder to quantify: a profound sense of duty to this community. In 2018 I began raising awareness about the introduction of compulsory Relationships and Sex Education in UK schools, what it contained, what it was connected to, and what it meant for Muslim children and families.
That work highlighted that awareness alone was not enough and that a practical solution and Islamic counter-approach was needed.
The How ...
This need fuelled my resolve to produce practical information and resources. Whilst it is taking time, at the time of writing (2026) I am currently in the draft and editing stage of what has ended up becoming a trilogy - a three book series - that InShaAllah - sets out a framework along with detailed guidance on ways parents can raise and educate children in matters related to sexual tarbiyyah as well as help them to recognise and resist the ideological pressures that surround them.
However parents do not need to wait until the publication of these books and accompanying resources in order to begin introducing this subject matter into their child's general Islamic tarbiyyah.
This site, the Haqiqah Tree newsletter, community talks etc. aim to provide information, support and resources that you can use from now InShaAllah.
